Coco Cuba.
Chanel + Cuba equals jaw dropping collection! The 2016/17 Cruise Collection is one of my favourite collections by far, and added to that that the show happened in Havana, Cuba - it makes it just that much better!
On the day of the show, 170 colourful vintage cars transported the guests to El Paseo Del Prado, the venue in central Havana, and once the guests were seated, the show began (They even cast local women to walk, which I thought was wonderful!) Beautiful tiered ballerina skirts made of organza & appliqué paired with sequinned bags and hats mixed with vintage looking t-shirts made a bang, and more classic pinstripes, tweed and boxy shapes were present as well. There was also a tomboy element in some of the looks, with brogues and khaki jackets.
I felt like a princess wearing this skirt (if you look closely, it has the vintage cars printed on it that are so popular in Cuba) - It flowed so beautifully! I could also live in this vintage inspired baseball tee -so cute!
The collection is beautiful yet wearable, which Karl Lagerfeld is just so good at. It is bright, bold & happy, which I think is what makes it my absolute favourite.
