Barcelona Diary: Part 2
There were so many amazing things to do in and around Barcelona, and I could have stayed there for a month! On our third day we moved to The Miramar Hotel and even if you are not staying there, I highly recommend walking up the hill to take in the amazing view of the city - it is spectacular! They ave a beautiful garden that you can walk around in and a wonderful bar where you can sit and lookout over the city.
We also made a day trip to the Montserrat Monastery (a one hour train ride from Barcelona) which was actually breathtaking. Built up in a 1200 meter high mountain (you have to take a cable car to the top, so much fun!) is a monastery first built in 880AD. The views of the Catalonia landscape from the top are wild, and there are monuments that you can walk around and see along the way. The monastery is built along various mountains, so you can actually hike around or walk to each one - You could certainly spend all day or multiple days here if you wanted to...it is a must visit if you are in Barcelona for sure!
Finally it was time to head back home, and once again, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines took such great care of us! We checked in and relaxed in the lounge (we had a layover in Amsterdam, and the KLM Airline Lounge saved us because they had great food & a dark room where we could sleep for the few hours of the layover - so lovely!) and then flying once again in Business Class made it feel as though we weren't flying at all.
A big thank you to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for giving me an adventurer of a lifetime! Discover you next dream deal with KLM here (the Dream Deals are on until September 14th!)
