The road to The Sahara Desert is a long and winding one - But ten hours driving on very skinny roads through the mountains and villages from Marrakech to our camp in the middle of the dunes was well worth it to discover the magic of the Sahara Desert!
We traveled and stayed with Mergouza Luxury Desert Camps and got to stay a different camp each night... When we arrived and got out of the car, awaiting us was some very cute camels ready to take us into the dunes to our first (beautiful!) camp.
It was unlike anything I have ever seen...waking up in surrounded by only sand is such an unreal feeling, and the star gazing at night - The trip is worth it for just that alone!
The team at Mergouza camps took such fantastic care of us -The guides were so kind and the food (traditional Moroccan Chicken Tajine and Harira Soup and vegetable couscous, all served with mint tea, so good!)
It was a long journey, but an unforgettable one, that is for sure.
More from Marrakech coming soon,
