Traveling is my favourite thing to do - I am constantly looking for where I can go next~I just love seeing different cultures and being inspired by new sights, tastes and sounds~So I was very excited to have the chance to travel to Barcelona, Spain, with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

I have taken a lot of flights in my life, and while I love arriving at my destination, the travel part isn't always that much fun...For this adventure, I was lucky enough to get to fly Business Class with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and what an amazing experience it was! Barcelona is one of the many KLM Dream Deals destinations being promoted by KLM until September 14th, you can read more about this destination & more here.

From the moment I checked into my flight, everything seemed easier.  I was able to board the plane first, and the staff on the flight were so very kind and helpful, and made sure I had everything I could possibly need for my flight. Getting to lay back and actually sleep during the 9 hour flight was such a dream, I almost wanted the flight to last longer! It definitely made the journey to Barcelona a part of the entire travel experience.

We arrived in Barcelona and for the first two nights of our visit, stayed at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I where we immediately went to their beautiful pool (they have 2, and even have a Veuve Clicot Bar at the Garden Pool!) and just soaked up the Spanish sun and relaxed.  They also had a beautiful terrance restaurant that was outside and had sparkling lights hanging above the tables...it was the best place to just relax and recover from our travels.

Barcelona is an amazing city because it has a little bit of everything...there are historic sights to see, modern shopping areas and beautiful beaches to explore.  For our first few days we just wandered the city, walking through the beautiful Gothic Quarter (where some buildings date back to Medieval Times!) and visited a few of the Antoni Gaudi (a very famous architect who lived in Barcelona in the 1900's) including Casa Batllo & The Sagrada Familia.  We also explored the Barcelona Cathedral (built in the 4th century!) which was just breathtaking.

One of the best parts about traveling is eating! I love that there are so many terraces in Barcelona~ perfect places for stopping along the way to have a cool drink & people watch.  We discovered some amazing restaurants in Barcelona as well, and one of my favourites was Arume - The space was so fun and the staff so friendly~Their Blackverry Mojito, Burrata Salad & The Duck Creamy Rice were all insanely delicious!

More coming up from Barcelona, stay tuned!
